Saint Frances Retreat 2014For the second time already the Saint Francis retreat was being held, and therefore we have now experienced the Ritiro St. Francis as a real tradition. This time at and around the community Homüschemühl (www.homuschemuhl.nl) in Kleve-Keeken, directly on the Dutch-German border, where Alide and Jos were our hostess and host.
Bisonteur-Educateur Ruud was responsible for the substantive program and together with Alida he had come up with the German mystic Hildegard von Bingen to join as “mistery guest”. So she was omnipresent during the talks of Ruud and the many fireplace- and table conversations.
Another special guest was Brigitte van Baaren (author of Power of Compassion, Franciscan Leadership, see also www.zenforleadership.com who did a Zen meditation and a tea ceremony with us after breakfast on Sunday morning.
And of course we did a lot of cooking, walking, pie baking, chopping, sawing, splitting wood and making music, the absolute highlight of which was the “coming out” of Lisette as a virtuoso interpreter of the Brazilian song.
